In 1992, Ky Hoyle opened what became the UK's pioneering women-owned sex shop after discovering just how intimidating buying a vibrator could be.
Starting with just £700 and a determination to do things differently, Sh! became known for replacing embarrassment with honest advice, practical education and genuine care.

With more than 18 years' experience supporting women on their journey to sexual wellbeing, Renée combines warmth, expertise and compassion in every course she teaches. She specialises in menopause, vaginismus, pelvic pain and reclaiming pleasure, and has worked alongside healthcare professionals to help people rediscover confidence in their bodies. Renée's approach is practical, reassuring and always judgement-free, empowering learners with the knowledge and confidence to explore pleasure on their own terms.
Sex educator and performer Evie has been teaching at Sh! for over five years, bringing her approachable, down-to-earth style to every lesson. Passionate about sex-positive education, communication and consent, she makes even the most sensitive topics feel relaxed, informative and empowering. Evie's courses blend expert guidance with practical tips, helping learners build confidence, improve intimacy and explore pleasure without shame or awkwardness.
